At School of Dogs, we believe the most engaging and beneficial way to train your dog is to use positive dog training techniques. Take a look at our Dog Training page to find out more.
Agility Classes
Agility is the ability to move swiftly and effortlessly. It requires a combination of coordination, balance, speed, endurance and strength.

As well as our large classes we offer one-to-one focusing sessions. These consist of an initial consultation of 80 minutes and then additional sessions of 60 minutes.

Case Study 1

In December we rehomed a rescue dog, a one year Staffordshire Bull Terrier. It very quickly became apparent that our dog had behavioural issues. We booked an appointment with a behaviourist at a training centre, and the first available date was mid-January. Struggling on ourselves over the Christmas period, we saw the behaviourist, and after describing our dog's behaviour, were told 'Why have you still got him? You cannot change the world. Get rid of him'.

The behaviour continued to deteriorate, even to the point where our Vet, who is exceptionally supportive, would have euthanized our dog, due to concerns about his behaviour towards us. With those words from the first behaviourist going round in our minds and our dog's behaviour becoming worse, it was by chance when we were in a well-known pet retailers (there are others on the high street) that Lee Ferry was recommended to us.

Lee experienced first hand our dog's issues and told us this was not aggression but the outcome of, firstly the way its previous owner(s) had treated it, and secondly the conditions in which our dog had been kept. Since meeting Lee at the end of January, we have had a number of 1:1 hour long lessons. Lee's methods of training and his attitude in general was extremely positive. We came away from our first session with Lee with hope and confidence that we could turn our dog around. The sessions have proved to be so beneficial to the extent that the bad behaviour, which manifests itself when our dog doesn't get its own way, has virtually ceased. Three months in, and Lee's positive training has proved to be very successful with the change in our dog's behaviour being remarkable.

We would not hesitate to recommend Lee as an animal behaviourist.

“When we got our Jack Russell, Peggy, just under a year ago, we were her fourth owners in 11 months. Needless to say, Peggy didn’t have the best start in life and had experienced very little discipline. I was worried that she would never really settle down. Lee was recommended to us by a friend so we got in touch. We were advised Peggy would benefit from some 1-1 private sessions which we booked. I can honestly say they changed everything, Lee really helps you to understand your dog and the impact your actions can have. After just two sessions Peggy was like a different dog, we continued to use the skills we’d learned from Lee and still use them now. We’ve learned with Peggy as a team and she’s gone from being extremely nervous and a little bit naughty to being a confident, well mannered dog that we’re happy to take anywhere with us. Lee told us that he held agility classes so we decided to give them a go, we’ve now been attending for around 18 weeks and have moved from the beginner into the intermediate class. Lee’s enthusiasm is brilliant and we enjoy every single session we attend – theres always something new to learn. We’re so glad we found School of Dogs and couldn’t recommend Lee and his team enough.(Jo, Phil and Peggy Sue)

We first met Lee when we had a problem with our rescue dog Barney. The problem was sorted within half an hour. This is when we found out about Lee’s junior agility classes. We enrolled Barney and Ellen (6 year old granddaughter) where they are doing very well. One year later they are still both enjoying attending agility class. Myself over this period being an observer has seen the improvement in both Ellen and Barney also the other dogs and junior handlers have improved as some dogs proving to be more of a problem. Which Lee handles with great skill and patients. Would recommend his services to anyone. (Peter, Ellen & Barney)
